Supportive Housing

Supportive HousingJo Ray House’s client population consists primarily of African-Americans (approximately 61%) living with HIV/AIDS in the Chicago metropolitan area. 100% of those served through our supportive housing programs are male. Approximately 80% of these men have a history of incarceration, or have been recently-released from jail and/or prison.

Our supportive housing program provides a safe place for these men to receive shelter, warm meals and other community-based, practical assistance in the challenges of societal reentry. 24/7 staff provide lifestyle management services (providing education and information that helps clients successfully monitor their health by managing antiretroviral treatments as well as nutrition, interventions, and preventive treatment to help avoid opportunistic infections), recreational activities and more.
